Privacy Policy
How the Our Own Nine founding beta collects, uses, and protects information.
Effective August 1, 2026 · Version 2026-08-01
This Privacy Policy applies to Our Own Nine (the “Service”). Our Own Nine is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with the WPBL.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your email address, display name, and a securely hashed representation of your password. We do not store your password in plain text. We also record the date and version of the Terms and Privacy Policy accepted during registration.
Fantasy and community activity
We store information needed to operate the game, including leagues, teams, draft activity, queues, lineups, rosters, transactions, trades, standings, scoring history, and message-board posts. Support requests may include your email address, subject, message, and related account information.
Technical information
When you use the Service, our systems may receive technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, request times, cookie identifiers, and application or security logs.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure accounts;
- operate leagues, drafts, lineups, transactions, trades, scoring, and standings;
- send password-reset and support communications;
- diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and protect the Service;
- respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests; and
- understand and improve product reliability and usability.
3. What other users can see
Your email address and password hash are not displayed to other fantasy managers. Depending on the feature, other members of your leagues may see your display name, team and league names, draft and roster activity, lineups, trades, transaction history, standings, and message-board posts. Some product activity may also be visible to site administrators who operate and support the Service.
4. Cookies and local browser storage
We use essential cookies for authentication, security, and session continuity. If you choose “Keep me signed in,” a signed remember-me cookie may remain on your device for up to 60 days. You may remove cookies through your browser or sign out to delete authentication cookies, but blocking essential cookies may prevent the Service from working.
The Service may use local browser storage for interface state, such as draft-room preferences. This information stays in your browser unless the feature states otherwise.
5. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers to operate the Service, including Amazon Web Services for hosting and Amazon Simple Email Service for transactional email. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services, protect their systems, or comply with law.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse or security incidents, or complete a future reorganization or transfer of the Service. If ownership changes, this policy will continue to apply unless users receive notice of a change.
6. No sale of personal information
We do not sell or rent personal information. The founding beta does not currently use targeted advertising or third-party advertising trackers.
7. Retention
We keep account and fantasy activity while needed to operate the Service, preserve league and scoring integrity, resolve disputes, secure the platform, and meet legal obligations. Support records and technical logs may be retained for a limited period appropriate to those purposes. Backups may retain deleted information temporarily until they rotate out.
When an account is deleted, we will delete or de-identify information where reasonably possible. Certain league, transaction, scoring, security, or legal records may be retained when removing them would affect other users, compromise record integrity, or conflict with a legal obligation.
8. Your choices
You may update information exposed through available account or league controls. To request access, correction, or deletion of account information, submit a request through the support page using the email associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You may disable the optional remember-me feature by leaving it unchecked, signing out, or removing browser cookies.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us through support so we can investigate and delete the information where appropriate.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including password hashing, encrypted web connections, access controls, and security logging. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password and report suspected account compromise promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. The page will show the effective date and version. When a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice and may request renewed acknowledgment.
12. Contact
Privacy questions and requests may be submitted through the support page.
